We are a co-operative agency which means we work as agents for each other.

Being part of a co-op puts you in the driving seat and gives you a great insight into how the industry works from an agent's point of view. You are also part of a community of actors who understand exactly what it is like and who support each other, not only in getting work, but professionally and emotionally. It is a rewarding but significant commitment which is why we've put this page together to give you information as to what it means to be a member of Stage Centre Management.

If you want to join us please read on and follow the application process detailed below.

The office

As part of a co-operative agency, each member takes on two roles. First as an actor and secondly as an agent for the group.

When not on an acting job, each member spends the equivalent of three days a month in the agencies virtual office but this doesn't have to be whole days. As our agency is based on-line, you can be based anywhere in the UK as long as you have internet access. The office work involves:

  • considering casting breakdowns

  • securing auditions for members

  • maintaining contact with industry professionals

  • marketing the agency and our clients

  • processing new applicants

  • seeing existing clients and new applicants in shows

  • general office and co-op admin

Your career

As an actor, you will receive support, encouragement and advice from those around you, creating and implementing a career strategy to suit your own personal objectives. All activities on your behalf are entirely transparent and done in accordance with your own decisions.

For experienced actors, who have previously employed a personal manager, the control and transparency offered by Stage Centre and other co-ops is often a welcome change.

For actors at the start of their career, Stage Centre can offer a unique opportunity to develop the skills of a successful, proactive actor and an unrivalled understanding of the industry's working mechanisms.

Although our office is virtual, we arrange regular social meetings to provide extra opportunities to get to know other members.
