Getting to Know You...

Each month we will "Get to Know" one of our fantastic clients a little better by plonking them in our interview chair, (think a comfy chaise lounge rather than the famous Mastermind chair) and asking them to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences with us by taking our not too serious questionnaire. This month we "Get to Know"...

Ana Torre

NAME: Ana Torre

Years with Stage Centre: 4 1/2

On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being absolutely not and 10 being definitely, how do you feel about pineapple on pizza?

Solid 6 I’d say

First Acting Job – Last Acting Job?

Playing a character called Adriana in Serpent of the Sea, a short play in a Latin American Scratch night at Rix mix. My last job was playing a political prisoner in ‘Far Away’ by Caryl Churchill at the Donmar Warehouse.

What would your Super Power be?

Teleportation. I wish I had it now more than ever before.

How do you relax?

Meditation, exercise, watching good (or bad) drama on TV and having a drink with friends at the pub (virus permitting of course)

Who would play you in the film of your life?

Probably Gal Gadot or Morena Baccarin or someone that hasn’t been born yet.

You are up on stage to collect your best Actor Oscar...You’ve thanked the usual ie Family, Agent, Film crew etc….Who else do you thank?

Probably the one teacher that believed in me, that helped me get into drama schools and my therapists, yes, plural.

Where were you trained?

Drama Studio London

What is your most treasured possession?

A golden cross that my late Dad used to wear everyday.

What one piece of advice would you give your younger Acting/Performing self?

Don’t wait for someone to give you the life you want, it’s up to you to create it.

Please tell us of a career highlight?

Being cast as a day player in a big Netflix show.

Performance role model?

Lesley Manville. If one day I’m half as good as her I will be happy..

Do you have a favorite genre of the Performing Arts? Why?

Nothing ever beats theatre.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing...Anything you would do differently, career-wise?

Only recently I’ve started to believe in myself and my ability. I think if I had done that years ago I would be much further in my career by now.
