Getting to Know You...
Each month we will "Get to Know" one of our fantastic clients a little better by plonking them in our interview chair, (think a comfy chaise lounge rather than the famous Mastermind chair) and asking them to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences with us by taking our not too serious questionnaire. This month we "Get to Know"...
NAME: Adam Bone
Years with Stage Centre: 4 years 4 months
On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being absolutely not and 10 being definitely, how do you feel about pineapple on pizza?
10 – however, was always better with ham, and I’ve been vege for a long time now so need an alternative!
First Acting Job – Last Acting Job?
Did a TIE tour of South London schools, straight after graduating from Mountview, where I received something like £100 per day, with mainly one perf per day – thought that was what it would be like from there on!!
What would your Super Power be?
To cure people of stupidity…
How do you relax?
Yoga, cycling, running, meditation, talking, playing, reading.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
Can’t think of one person, but as it’s a wishlist, if I could get someone with the emotional connection of Ricky Gervais in ‘AfterLife’ , the integrity and passion of Jaoquin Phoenix in his 2020 Oscar speech, and the physique of the Olympic swimmer Tom Daley, I’d be pretty happy!! Haha!!
You are up on stage to collect your best Actor Oscar...You’ve thanked the usual ie Family, Agent, Film crew etc….Who else do you thank?
The therapists and counsellors who I’ve seen over the years. They have been of immense help at different times and have been instrumental in big changes for me.
Where were you trained?
Mountiview – MA in Performance
What is your most treasured possession?
What one piece of advice would you give your younger Acting/Performing self?
Allow yourself to play and make mistakes. They are both essential for creativity.
Please tell us of a career highlight?
Probably doing ‘Faces in the Crowd’ by Leo Butler in 2018. It was the closest I’ve been to feeling creatively fulfilled for a sustained period.
Performance role model?
See who would play me…
Do you have a favorite genre of the Performing Arts? Why?
Love so many areas. Have seen great performances at London Mime Festival, through to musicals like Matilda, to tv such as Sex Education And The Let Down, and films like Birdman and Captain Fantastic, to dance at Sadlers Wells. If anything, struggle with theatre, in that often find myself wanting. Ones that have stood out inc Ian McKellen in ‘Waiting for Godot’, Mark Rylance in ‘Twelfth Night’ and Matthew Fox ‘In a Forest Dark and Deep’.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing...Anything you would do differently, career-wise?
I’m grateful for the life I have, so don’t really do the ‘ if things were different’
Thanks to Adam for his answers.
Next up it's time to "Get to Know" the wonderful FUNKE ADELEKE...
